Stacking the Shelves #35

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves! Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.

Today is my 35th edition of Stacking the Shelves. Here's to another happy 35!

This week is also Great Imaginations' 2 year blogoversary. We're not planning anything too huge, but we do have a lovely Easter giveaway planned for that week and we are also giving away a gift card. There will be 3 winners. Guys, I wish I could give you the world, but I just don't have the funds to do it right now, so I do the best that I can.

I love all of you more than you could ever know. This community has saved me and given my life a purpose. Without you guys, I'd be the mess I was before I found you all.

I just feel like I needed to say that. I realize that sometimes I may talk too much, and sometimes I have a big mouth and open it when it should stay shut. But I do it because I love this community. We all have different ways of expressing ourselves and I am totally okay with that. I know that not everyone is going to like me. But those of you that do, and accept me as I am?

All the squishy hugs for you.

I guess I'd better get to the books now, but because of some of the events that went on this week, I felt I really needed to get a few things off my chest.

Okay, books. So this week I only got one book for review. But last weekend, Dan took me to Books A Million (well, rather, he took himself and I tagged along. They didn't have the book he wanted and I bought 5. LOL.) and I bought some of the books that I had been wanting over the last month or so. I kept myself out of the adult section or I would have been COMPLETELY out of control. And I have a shipment from Amazon coming this week still.

Books!!

For Review:

Wasteland by Susan Kim and Laurence Klavan (Thanks EpicReads!)

I Bought:

Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger

Spellcaster by Claudia Gray

Starstruck by Rachel Shukert

When We Wake by Karen Healey

The Farm by Emily McKay

Phew! So those were the ones I wanted that I saw at BAM. But there are 5 more, I think, coming from Amazon. I am supposed to get them via UPS today and I cannot wait!

Like I needed any more books. But you know I don't buy a big stack like this very often. Right? RIGHT? Haha.

E-books:

This is W.A.R. by Lisa Roecker and Laura Roecker (Thank you to Soho Teen and Edelweiss)

After the Ending by Lindsey Fairleigh and Lindsey Pogue (Bought as 1.99 Kindle Daily Deal)

And that's it for me this week! Right as I was typing up this post, I got that Amazon shipment I was waiting on. I thought about including it here, but I've just decided to wait and put it in next week's haul. But...IT IS AWESOME. Best book shipment EVARRRRR. Anyway, leave me links, links, links. I want to see your stash!

  6. Nice haul, Kara! I've been waiting to read Let the Sky Fall as well. Hopefully it's good. I saw This is War in EW and thought about requesting it but I still have SO MANY books to get through so I didn't. (Oh my God. I exercised control! It's practically unheard of in book bloggers. Lol) I'll have to wait and see what you think of it.

  14. Great books! I love bookstore trips! I've been eyeing The Farm each and every time I go to the bookstore. I love the cover for it! And I really love the cover for This is W.A.R. I'm tempted to request it, but I've been drawn to contemporaries lately.

    Enjoy all your books, Kara!

    1. Hehe. I love Dan to death! Agreed about Jessie, though I hear in person his head is like tiny. TV makes things HUGE. Hahaha.
