Stacking the Shelves #33

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves! Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.

I have a baby haul this week for you guys, and I contemplated not even doing a post this week, but it's become a habit for me to do these and I feel kind of empty when I don't, so I thought what they hey, I'll do it anyway. I am expecting some giveaway wins, but I still have not gotten them, so maybe next week?

For Review:

Have Mother, Will Travel by Claire Fontaine and Mia Fontaine (Thank you to TLC Book Tours and William Morrow for this beauty.)

Deck Z: The Titanic: Unsinkable. Undead. by Chris Pauls and Matt Solomon

This was  a Kindle Daily Deal this week and because of the subject matter, how could I refuse? I love reading about the Titanic and I love reading about zombies, so let's mash 'em up!

Told you it was small. That's it for me this week! I might go to the used book store this weekend though, so there is the possibility that I may have a monster haul for next week. But that only depends on how I've slept as my insomnia is acting up again. So we'll see. Leave me a comment and I will try to stop by!

  1. I haven't heard of either of these before, but I like the sound of Deck Z. That one looks pretty interesting! I can't wait to see what you think of them. :)

And I hope you can get some sleep, too. I had huge problems with insomnia a few years back and know how frustrating it can be.

    1. It's very frustrating because it limits my job choices. I cannot function without sleep so I'm kind of in a Catch 22 right now.

  2. Deck Z is one that I am interested in because I always see it in the GR giveaways. It sounds really cool. Like you said, Titanic and zombies. It could either be awesome, or go terribly wrong haha!! I hope that your insomnia doesn't act up too bad. I know how you feel. I get it really bad sometimes too and even meds don't help.

  3. The Titanic and ZOMBIES?!?!? Crazy! I'm not even sure what to think about that! I hope you like it. :) I love Titanic stories, too. I just picked up Kaspar by Michael Morpurgo from the library which is also about the Titanic, but it's an MG book, so I'm betting it won't be as horrific as yours. ;)

    Enjoy your week!

  5. I've had my eye on Deck Z, I'll have to put it on my wish list. Have Mother Will Travel is new to me, but I don't usually read non-fiction. Looks like it might be a good Mother's Day gift! I'm not posting a StS today, I just feel lazy:) Next week for sure! Thanks for sharing, Kara!

  13. I hope you enjoy Have Mother, Will Travel. I really didn't expect to like it, but then was seriously surprised. Also, I want to go on that vacation SO badly. Either way, I will look forward to your thoughts.

On another note, I hope your insomnia goes away and that you can go crazy in the used book store. I'm hoping to get your box sent tomorrow or Thursday!

    1. Oh, yes. I cannot wait to read about the vacation! I'm excited about this one.

I did go to the used bookstore. I got some great books and I finally got a copy of Memoirs of a Geisha in print! I know you hate that book but it's my fave!
