Welcome to Stacking the Shelves. Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.
OMG. This week you guys. It was out of bookish control. I thought that I might film a vlog to show this awesomeness, but unfortunately my roots are really gross right now and I didn't have time to dye them. And I refuse to go on camera with dark roots.
But anyway, I got a TON of physical books this week and I got some e-books too. I am stressed the hell out because I was behind last week and now I am even MORE behind. But I'm so excited at the same time.
Last week y'all told me how much you loved my tropical/outdoor photo so I did it again this week. And almost tripped going down the stairs, but I made it and took the following photo. I already have a place picked out for next week's photo if I get any physical books.
Starting at the top, I received a signed ARC of 17 & Gone by Nova Ren Suma from Dutton and LibraryThing's Early Reviewers program. I was excited that I won this but I had no idea it was signed until it arrived at my apartment. THAT was an awesome surprise.
From The Midnight Garden and the lovely Wendy Darling, I received an ARC of The Friday Society by Adrienne Kress. I won this in a giveaway they were holding. I rarely win giveaways, FYI.
Next, I got my editor's copy of Sins & Needles by Karina Halle. This book is gorgeous in person. WOW. And if I haven't talked you into buying it yet, go buy it! Because it's awesome. And I'm not just saying that because I worked on it. It truly is. And the reviews don't lie.
I received my copy of The Silence of Bonaventure Arrow for an upcoming TLC Book Tour. They are an awesome company to work with. Trust me. And if you are looking for an uncomplicated, low stress tour company to work with, this is the one. They don't do too many YA tours, but they do a few, and the book selection is always fab.
Next are my copies from MacKids that I got a couple of weeks ago and I forgot to include in my haul. I am a failure. But I have remembered and here they are. I got copies of Mortal Fire by Elizabeth Knox and The Fury by Alexander Gordon Smith.
Lastly, I received a copy of The Tin Horse by Janice Steinberg from Random House Readers Circle. Every now and then I get a book from RHRC and I am always so excited. This one looks really interesting and it is a beautiful hardcover.
SOOOOO addicted to this series. I bought and finished On Demon Wings by Karina Halle. I loved it but not as much as Lying Season. I then went right ahead and bought Old Blood which is Pippa's novella and I can't wait to read that. If you are looking for reviews of Lying Season or On Demon Wings, you won't find them because I am not reviewing them. As much as I want to, I think at this point it would be a conflict of interest since I am working so closely with this author. I did NOT edit these novels, but I still think it's unfair of me to rate and review them. They are freaking AWESOME though.
