Welcome to Stacking the Shelves. Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.
HUGE, HUGE week. Not so much in physical books (I only got one), but I got a shit ton of e-books and e-arcs and oh lord is it stressing me out. The review pile is backing up again and I am freaking out. I promised myself I would NOT stress if I didn't get to a book for review this year, but I still feel bad because I requested them so the onus is on ME to do it right. Le sigh. But I digress. So the e-book stack is huge. On to the books.
From one of my very best friends, Giselle at Xpresso Reads, I received a finished hardcover copy of The Prey by Andrew Fukuda. I know most bloggers hated The Hunt, but i really liked it so I am looking forward to this one. Giselle sent it to me because she is NOT a fan. So thanks, Giselle!
First of all, I know I am on a book buying ban until the end of time. But Dan took me to Books a Million after much whining and begging from me and I set myself a three book limit. That was so hard because there were about 4 other books I wanted but I was good. The above picture is what I bought.
Everbound by Brodi Ashton
Venom by Fiona Paul
Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier
E-Books I Bought
Just in time for Australia Day, Kirsty Eager's books got put up on Amazon for purchase by Kindle.
Saltwater Vampires by Kirsty Eager
Dude I have wanted this book since I STARTED blogging. I'm on a book buying ban, but I had to make an exception for this book. And the rest of Eager's books. LOL.
Raw Blue by Kirsty Eager
Night Beach by Kirsty Eager
E-Books for Review
And like I mentioned, I got loaded up with e-arcs for review this week. And this isn't even the half of it. You should see how many requests I have left pending that haven't been approved yet. O_O
The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson
Thanks, Scholastic! (NetGalley)
Weather Witch by Shannon Delany
Thanks, St. Martin's! (NetGalley)
The Dead and Buried by Kim Harrington
Thanks, Scholastic! (NetGalley)
The Office of Mercy by Ariel Djanikian
Pitched to me by Penguin. I accepted since I wanted to read it anyway. I featured this on the blog on a Top Ten Tuesday a couple of months ago.
And that's it for me this week. Insane, huh? I hope I don't have another week like this for a loooong time. Not because I don't love books, but because I can feel the stress level rising. LOL. Leave me a comment and I will try to come visit your posts. Until next week, HAPPY READING!! :D

I've been patiently waiting to read Saltwater Vampires and Raw Blue. May have to rush out to Amazon and check out the prices! I'm looking forward to your review of the Prey. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteThey aren't cheap but they aren't bad either. I hope you can get them! I hope I can get to The Prey soon.
DeleteWhat a fab week!! I love what you did with the plants and the pics!! Very pretty!! OMG I am going to drown under my review book (ebook) pile. I said I wasn't going to do it to myself this year either and I am a total fail!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am a total fail too.
DeleteI want to read The Hunt so bad! grr....I hope you enjoy The Dead and Buried more than I did, and as a side note I'm jealous you have sun shine...even though I know your half way around the world from me, I'm still jealous. -_-
ReplyDeleteOctavia of Read. Sleep. Repeat.
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it! That stinks. I hope I like it. O_O
DeleteThe Summer Prince is up? I have to see if I can get that because it sounds amazing! I also LOVED Raw Blue, Kara, so I can't wait to see what you make of it and Everbound is one I really need to pick up soon too. Fantastic haul this week!
ReplyDeleteIt is! I can't wait to read Raw Blue too if I can ever get to it!
DeleteNice haul. You had a really good week. A lot of people I know have been raving about The Weather Witch. Curious to hear what you thought of it.

GIRL. Look at all the Kirsty Eagar. I've read Raw Blue and loved the shiz out of it. I need to add more of her amazingness to my TBR. And re: your stress level. The good news is that The Dead & Buried is AWESOME and quick and reminiscent of RL Stine's Fear Street books. SO GOOD. Tackle that one. You'll read it in like, an hour.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! <3
Thanks, Jen! I am so glad you liked The Dead and Buried because I have heard mixed things.
DeleteI loved 'The Hunt' as well, even though I am in the minority as far as bloggers go. I recently added 'The Prey' to my shelf and am really looking forward to reading it!

I really enjoyed The Hunt, mostly because I was so surprised by how much I liked it!
ReplyDeleteAnd hooray for Kirsty's books being avail. for you guys, I can't wait for your reviews, K!
I'm glad you did. So did I! It was such a weird book. I am not hearing great things about The Prey though.
DeleteReally looking forward to your review of The Summer Prince, Kara! It's one of these book that made me salivate when I first heard about it :) Fab haul, enjoy all your books!
ReplyDeleteBook buying bans never seem to work for me...
ReplyDeleteYou got some nice books! Venom is sitting on my TBR shelf and a few others/the series you bought I'm thinking of starting (once I actually cut down on the ridiculous amount of books i have to read...).
Me either. I try really hard and always fail.
DeleteYeah, I am loaded up with review books until forever right now.
The Dead and Buried is pretty good. I have seen Venom around a lot. I need to look into that one. Enjoy all your goodies. Happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteSo many amazing books Kara. I'm currently reading Venom by Fiona Paul and looking forward to also getting Everbound and Sapphire Blue.

Ahh brilliant haul, Kara! There are so many wonderful looking books up there! I loved both Raw Blue and Everbound and hope you enjoy them too. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on The Summer Prince. That one has a gorgeous cover! Enjoy. :)
ReplyDeleteIt does have a gorgeous cover. Thanks, Sam!
DeleteOoh, I’m super jealous about Raw Blue! I’ve heard a lot of great things about that one, but it’s somewhat difficult to find here in the States. I’ll probably have to cave and buy it as an ebook, too. Hope you enjoy it, Kara!
ReplyDeleteBut at least it's available via e-book now!
DeleteAwesome week Kara!! I got Weather Witch too, can't wait to start it ♥ I also REALLY want to read Venom & The Everneath series! Congrats on all of these & I hope you'll love them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by earlier
XOXO
Thanks, Micheline! I hope we both like it!
Deleteoooh weee look at the artsy photos you took! Love them, great way to showcase the pretties. I really do need to read The Hunt to see about that one for myself. The concept sounds so cool, just not to sure about the execution. I really liked Everbound, I hope you do too!
ReplyDeleteLOL you call those artsy?
DeleteI really liked The Hunt. Though I know how Giselle feels LOL. I'm not sure if you would like it or not. But I sure want to find out!
Yay! You went book shopping! Will be curious to see what you think about The Hunt and Venom. From the reviews I've seen, people either loved or hated Fiona Paul's book.
ReplyDeleteUgh. I did. I can't wait to try Venom. I thought I would hear more about it than I did.
DeleteRaw Blue!!! Love that book! I really need to read her other books!
