Stacking the Shelves #26

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves. Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.

This week I have an approval from Tor Teen on NetGalley, a HOLY SHIT! package from MacKids, and that's it! It was a bit of a slow week here. But since this is one of my most anticipated books for 2013, I'm okay with that!

The Nightmare Affair by Mindee Arnett

Thanks to Tor Teen for this one. This is definitely one of my most anticipated titles of 2013 and I am entirely too lucky to get to read it early.

Thanks to MacKids for this one and wow was I excited to get it. It was not a surprise because I requested it, but I still jumped up and down like a loon anyway. Because I won't get to this one for a while, I'm sending it to my co-blogger Lyn first. Then when she is done it will make its way back to me. I'm actually really excited to see it through Lyn's eyes first. Should be interesting.

And that's it for me this week. Leave me a comment and I will try to come visit your Stacking the Shelves. Until next week, happy reading!

  8. I got approved for Nightmare Affair too! It sounds so creative and fun - high hopes for that one. And I've already expressed my jealousy over your Siege and Storm ARC but I am here to do it again. SO. JEALOUS.

I'm happy for you and Lyn though - at least I'll get reviews from bloggers I trust!

  9. THE NIGHTMARE AFFAIR. If you hadn't posted this I never would have known it was on NetGalley but YES NOW I CAN REQUEST IT TOO.

Aren't the people at MacMillan great? I just love them. I didn't request Siege and Storm (I wasn't a fan of the first book) but I got a package from them this week too, and while I was expecting it, I also danced around like a madwoman when I got it.

    1. I really liked it. There are a lot of the usual YA tropes there, but I thought the story, world-building, and writing was so good that it was worth it.

  14. I got The Nightmare Affair, too, and I plan on getting Siege and Storm really soon. I can't wait to read it, though it might be a while, and I'll probably be rereading Shadow and Bone as I don't remember much from it. Except Darkling, of course. Great haul, Kara!

    1. I wish I had time to re-read Shadow and Bone. I think I will have enough memories to be alright. Once I start reading usually things come back fairly quickly if the book was memorable.
