Stacking the Shelves #8

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves #8!! Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews.

I didn't do a STS post last week because I like to gather my books and get a good haul rather than do a post for just one book. The good news is I bought a box of books from Amazon that I have seen around the blogosphere and I'm really excited to show you those. I COULD do a vlog but I'm not going to.

My picture is kind of crappy this week because I took it on my outside balcony and it's currently storming so the lighting is all weird. But I really like it out here and this is where I am camped out today so that's what you get! ;)

I slept late today, and apparently a frog got inside the house this morning. My husband had to chase it around the living room and rescue it to get it outside. You can add that to the enormous wolf spider we got in the apartment last week. I do NOT know how these critters are getting inside. It's just a part of living in Florida, I guess. I'll share any pictures I get in the future. For now, it's all about books.

Bought:

Why: Because Wendy Darling, Rose, Christina, and Cassi all loved it. Basically, it was recommended me to a bunch of bloggers and Goodreads members that I trust. I also love zombie books and I hear this one is really original. Right on.

Why: Well, this book is adorable. I love fairy tales. And Chris Colfer is an amazing young man. I hope the book lives up to the hype. I know the reviews are a little mixed but I have faith I will like it.

Why: The cover, dystopia, based on a Jane Austen novel? Pretty good reviews? It just looks kind of unique. I'm not really sure. I kind of bought this one on a whim.

The Aviary by Kathleen O'Dell

Why: The blurb sounds amazing. Also? This review.

Why: The blurb. The reviews are mixed amongst reviewers I trust, but I had to try it. It just sounds like the perfect book for me. And I may be wrong. But at least there will be a fun, critical review to write.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

Why: Again, the blurb. I was going to buy it anyway but the amazing reviews cemented it for me. I hope I get to read it soon. My TBR-owned pile is out of freaking hand.

Tokyo Heist by Diana Renn

Why: Well, the Asian setting. I cannot turn down a book set in an Asian locale. Not gonna happen. ESPECIALLY Japan. The reviews are mixed, but this book sounds really exciting so I will give it a shot.

Reunited by Hilary Weisman Graham

Why: Road trip! Music! This just sounds like an amazing contemporary novel, and I don't read enough contemporary novels.

For Review:

Why: The next book in the Blood Red Road series? Uh, hello? Of course I was going to request this. I'm not requesting many books these days but this one I had to have.

And that's it for this week. I don't get many review books and that's just the way I like it. Less stress. Plus, I have a TON of editing projects coming up so my reading time will be reduced over the next couple of months.

Leave me links to your STS posts and I will try to come comment. Happy reading!!
