Trained in the magical art of shadow-weaving, sixteen-year-old Suzume is able to re-create herself in any form - a fabulous gift for a girl desperate to escape her past. But who is she really? Is she a girl of noble birth living under the tyranny of her mother's new husband, Lord Terayama? Or a lowly drudge scraping a living in the ashes of Terayama's kitchens? Or is she Yue, the most beautiful courtesan in the Moonlit Lands? Whatever her true identity, Suzume is destined to use her skills to steal the heart of a prince in a revenge plot to destroy Terayama. And nothing will stop her, not even the one true aspect of her life- her love for a fellow shadow-weaver.
I'm going to be honest. I don't love the cover on the US version. I love the UK cover much more. But this is what we are stuck with, and I can promise you that the contents of this book are wonderful. It's an epic tale of bravery, love, and magic. You can see my review of Shadows on the Moon here.
This giveaway is International. If you are in the US or Canada, I will be shipping from Amazon. If you are international, I will be shipping from The Book Depository. ReplyDeleteI will enter for I desperately wish to read this book! Huzzah
ReplyDeleteThis sounds freaking sweet. *crosses fingers*
ReplyDeleteI read your review of Wrecked and laughed out loud thru the entire thing! From what you had to say, the only good think about it is the title, which sounds like it is absolutely perfect! Wrecked the book is. As you said, at least it was an ARC so they could correct it if they paid attention to reviews like yours, with constructive criticism! Anyhow, thanks for the laught this moning!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I was able to make you laugh! That's always what I set out to do with those types of reviews and I never think I'm going to be successful. At least this time I was. :)
DeleteThis is such a fantastic book. :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd, no, I'm not talking about Wrecked, which is being discussed in the comment above mine. I mean Shadows on the Moon!
DeleteI'm glad you loved Shadows on the Moon. So did I. Definitely one of my favorite books of the year so far.
DeleteYour 5 Star giveaways are awesome! Such a great idea, this one looks really good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenni. I hope you win one of them. And I hope I can continue to do this next year. It doesn't cost as much as you think. Because I don't give out that rating easily, LOL.
